VIDEO: Watch the RHCA Supervisor Candidate Forum
The Rose Hill Civic Association hosted a Franconia District supervisor candidate forum on Wednesday, October 11. We recorded the video and posted it on YouTube so that voters and community members can watch the forum if they were unable to attend.
EDITOR'S NOTE: At the Rose Hill Candidate Forum on Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at the John Marshall Library, candidate Paul Beran said that that he believed a sale of the Rose Hill Shopping Center was imminent and that Combined Properties owed Fairfax County $300,000 in back taxes. RHCA contacted Aisha Hill, Senior Executive Vice President for Combined, who denied that either statement is true.
The latest tax record information as supplied by Fairfax County shows that Rose Hill Plaza's taxes are paid and up-to-date.

UPDATE 10/27/2023: Paul Beran contacted the RHCA and issued the following statement, which we're including in full:
Greetings from the campaign trail. I had the occasion to read your editor's note. It misquoted me as having said the proposed sale of Rose Hill Plaza is "imminent." I don't recall ever saying that. Please show me where I did, or retract your statement. I also said I had heard that the property tax on the Plaza had not yet been paid. I wondered why a proposal was being even considered without being paid in full at the time. The county statement you printed conveniently left off the dates they were paid. Nonetheless, I am pleased to see that they've been paid. We all need to pay our property taxes. The prospective buyer learned of their delinquency while doing their due diligence with the county. I made no representation beyond what I was told by the presumed buyer. I appreciate the importance of being accurate in reporting to the people.
